Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has responded to Bishop Charles Ong'injo's criticism of President William Ruto's administration over abductions and alleged neglect of development in certain regions.
The Bishop had criticized the government during a funeral service, alleging that the administration was bragging about developments despite unresolved issues, including the death of Engineer Hannington Raburu Juma.
Mbadi who was speaking at a function urged the Bishop to allow them to celebrate the progress made, noting that ongoing development projects had been initiated by previous administrations.
He also stated that the former prime minister of Kenya, late Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga had left them in government to keep them away from the streets where they were for over 20 years.
"We've been in the streets for years, we'll not go back," Mbadi said, appealing for understanding and patience.
He emphasized that the community had been marginalized and they were working to address the challenges.
Mbadi's response was seen as an attempt to address the Bishop's concerns and reassure the community of the government's commitment to development.
