Gachagua Reveals What Mbeere Residents Told Him As Campaigns Intensify Ahead of By-Election

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said that the people of Mbeere North Constituency remain firmly focused on their development goals as the area prepares for the November 27, 2025 parliamentary by-election.

Gachagua spent Thursday campaigning for Democracy for citizens Party (DCP) candidate Newton Kariuki, widely known as Karish.

The race has quickly become one of the most competitive contests in the Mt Kenya East region, attracting strong interest from political leaders and parties hoping to win the seat.

In his message shared on X on November 20, 2025, Gachagua praised the determination of local residents.

He described them as people who know what they want for their future and who are not easily swayed by political noise.

According to him, voters in Mbeere North have already identified the direction they want the constituency to take and are ready to make their voices heard at the ballot.

“The people of Mbeere North are clear and resolute about their priorities. They know exactly what they want, and nothing will distract them from the future they are determined to shape. We have a date with destiny,” he wrote.

Gachagua spent part of the day meeting residents at Kavengero Shopping Centre in Evurore Ward.

He said the engagement allowed him to understand their expectations and listen to their concerns.

He also praised the warm reception he received, noting that locals were eager to discuss issues such as infrastructure, job creation, education, and improved service delivery.

“It was profound to engage and interact with the residents of Kavengero Shopping Centre in Evurore Ward, Mbeere North Constituency. Eyes on the prize,” he added.
