Man Helped by Samia After Being Shot Turns Against Her, Says What He's Noticed Since Demos Erupted

Tanzanian activist and abduction victim, Edgar Mwakabela, has raised questions about President Samia Suluhu's shifting positions regarding the October 29 polls.

Mwakabela, popularly known on social media as 'Sativa', has pointed out that the President seems to be giving out a different claim each time she appears in public to address the matter, indicating that she is not being honest with Tanzanians.

He has stated that the first time the President addressed the issue, he claimed young people from some of the neighbouring countries crossed into Tanzania to cause chaos.

Sativa has further noted that this then moved to the youth following a trend and pouring into the streets, before Samia's claim on Thursday, that those protesting were hired and paid.

"On 3,11,25 she claimed young people from outside the country came to cause trouble, on 14,11,2025 she said they followed the trend and on 20,11,2025, she now says people were paid to demonstrate. Can you predict what will happen next?" he says on X.

This follows Samia's claim at the Dodoma State House earlier today, that the protesters were sorted out by some local and foreign NGOs to cause chaos and possibly destabilise her administration.

Sativa is a known critic of the President, whose government he claims carried out his abduction on June 2024, before he was shot in the head and thrown into the bushes in the Katavi wilderness.

Despite President Samia personally paying Tsh35 million in his treatment costs, he has held that those who harmed him were police officers, due to his criticism of the President.
