President William Ruto has now been cautioned that the narrative that he will be a one term president might actually materialise.
This is according to former Roots Party presidential running mate, Justina Wamae, who says Ruto continues to give Kenyans reasons not to re-elect him in the 2027 election.
She has warned the Commander in Chief that he is trapping himself by giving too many promises, which if not fulfilled, will make his defeat in 2027 unavoidable.
Wamae has asked Ruto to promise only what he can achieve, with regards to his vow on Thursday about the number of roads his government plans to dual.
"Promising Kenyans you will dual 21 roads then you fail to do so, will be your waterloo an addition to the the numerous list why your journey to Sugoi is unstoppable," she says on X.
She has also advised the President to wait until the said projects are complete before launching them, and stop the habit of launching projects which are still under construction.
"How about, completing the roads? Basically you should not commission or launch the roads/project on national TV before work begins but rather be decommissioned and opened when the road/project is complete."
This is after Ruto, during his third State of the Nation Address on November 20, 2025, announced plans to dual 21 major roads in the coming days.
He informed that he will be starting with the 170-kilometre Rironi–Naivasha–Nakuru–Mau Summit highway next week.
He also promised the same of the Kisumu-Busia and Mtwapa-Malindi highways.
